We report on American made wine and beer as people send us the names of their favorites, organized according to states to make it easy for you find the names of your area's regional wines and beers and also to participate in the events they offer. There are wine and beer festivals all across the country and regular wine tasting and beer tasting offered by most of the wineries and breweries. The biggest news to affect beer drinkers this year is of course, the buyout by a Belgian company of Anheuser Busch. (The beer is still made here but the profits go abroad.)

In South Carolina, Enoree River Vineyard fruit wines are truly wines for all courses. The cabernet holds its own with grilled steaks, and the riesling is amazing with any fish (with catfish in particular, believe it or not). The fruit wines are good over ice cream, served with a sprig of mint. Richard, owner of the Enoree River Vineyards served as a regional director of the Vietnam Veterans of America, and his duties required him to travel throughout the Southeast. As he was traveling from his home in Columbia, he never failed to stop at vineyard/wineries along the highway. He was impressed with the warm hospitality of the people who owned vineyards, many of whom encouraged him when he began to think of opening a vineyard himself. “They offered help and advice in any way they could.” The result is a dream come true in Enoree River Vineyards.
