Vic Firth Pepper mills are made in Newport, Maine. Their manufacturing facility was built in
1856, and today it is the largest private employer in the area. In
2007, they received the Pine Tree Award—the highest recognition a factory
can receive in the state of Maine. It signifies commitment to
expanding the labor force, exploring innovative improvements in
manufacturing and being “green”. Protecting the
environment has always been a priority for Vic firth. The majority of wood we
purchase is from a local FSC certified supplier, and all scrap and sawdust are collected and sent to wood fired
boilers for use as fuel.Vic has great
associations with amazing chefs Mario Batali, Mary Sue Milliken and
Susan Feniger. It is very rewarding to see our mills front and center
on many of the Food Network shows.
