American Made Beer- here is a list for you to reprint showing American made beer available nationally. You will be able to easily spot them when you go shopping-Budweiser, (Acquired 2008-inBEV. This company is headquartered in Belgium. They have nearly 300 world wide brands including Budweiser, Stella Artois, and Becks. As of 2008 they had 12 plants running in the USA. For further information about in-Bev, see their website. ),  Colt 45, Coors, {owned by Molson, Canada}, Miller, (foreign owner), Old Milwaukee, Pabst, Red Bull, Red Rock, Rolling Rock, Sam Adams, Shiner.

Then we list American made regional beers,
grouped in states for easy visiting, brewery touring, tasting, and enjoying  the food and drink at their facilities. Some, like Left Hand Brewing in Colorado and Blue Mountain Brewery in Virginia do wheat beers. Many like the Schafley Tap Room in St. Louis, have pubs or restaurants on their premises offering special labels and seasonal beers. Some share with us, their favorite recipes.

Regional Beers
ALASKA-Juneau, award winning Alaskan Brewing Company located in Juneau, founded in 1986, beers are currently available in ten states. Beers varieties include Alaskan amber, pale, stout, smoked porter, winter ale, summer ale, and their website offers glasses, tee shirts, and other memorabilia. If you're lucky enough to live in one of the ten states where the beer is available, the autumn barbecues and tail gateing parties are going to be a lot more fun with Alaskan Brewing Co. beers. California-Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. in Chico, CA 95928, does brewery tours, offers lists telling you which beers pair with what foods, and has a variety of brews, including its award winning Big Foot.
Colorado-Great Divide brews highly rated award winning beers like St. Bridget's Porter and Denver Pale Ale.
 Left Hand Brewing Co, Longmont has several award winnungbe rews, including Black Jack Porter, Sawtooth Ale, Haystack Wheat.


Kansas-Blind Tiger, Topeka Kansas 66611- ale and beers, and a fantastic restaurant uniquely integrated into their brewery- state of the art and amazingly all right in front of you while you enjoy the beer and the food. Tall Grass-micro brewery in Manhattan, 66502, run by Jeff and Tricia. On tap is their signature beer, Tall Grass, available throughout Kansas, and their ale, available in bottles. Free State Brewing Co., 636 Massachusetts St..Lawrence, KS 66044, Phone 785-843-4555, Fax 785-843-2543  They do lunch, dinner and wine tasting and their brewtmaster takes groups to Belgium for tours of Belgian breweries. Check their website for details. Their beers old standby's and new brews including Copperhead Pale Ale, Oatmeal Stout, Old Backus Barleywine, and Wheat State Golden.

Kentucky-Kentucky Ale is located in Lexington, KY. Their award winning Kentucky Light is available from retail stores and is sold in area restaurants, all listed on their website.

Louisana-American made beer comes from the Abita Brewery in Abita Springs, Louisiana.

MAINE Gritty's is a Maine success story. Their popular bottled varieties include:  Original Pub Style, Best Bitter, an English classic, well balanced, using rare East Kent hop flowers. Their Best Black Fly Stout is a dry all-malt stout, using six different grains. Allagash Brewery, in Portland Maine has been named one of the best beers in New England. And further north, Atlantic Brewing at 15 Knox Road, Bar Harbour 04609 offers hand crafted beers including Bar Harbor Real Ale, Blueberry Ale, and Island Ginger. They also have a restaurant, gift shop and brewery tours.




Massachusetts-Wachusetts Beer in Westminster, MA 01473. Their brews are available in N.Y., N.J., and Mass.
MICHIGAN Michigan Brewing Company in Webberville, 48892, produces a range of bottled beer under the Celis label and offer beer on tap including High Seas Indian Pale Ale, Mackinac Pale Ale, and seasonal brews. Missouri-Tin Mill Brewing Co. in an historic village, Hermann, MO 65041, produces authentic German beer, Pilners and Lagers; Boulevard Brewing Co. in Kansas City, MO 64108. They do brewery tours and make various brews including pale ale and porter stout. Schafley Beers, in St. Louis brews over 30 small batch beer stylesLaunched in 1991, The Schafley Tap Room holds the distinction of being the first brewpub in Missouri. It is found in a beautifully-restored historic building, The Tap Room enjoys a reputation as a casual, earthy place to drink, dine, listen to great live music or host a special event. When you're heading for St. Louis, this is the place to stop. annually at The Tap Room. Their website lists them month by month. "When they're gone, they're gone!"

New Hampshire-Portsmouth Brewery, 56 Market St. Portmouth, NH 03801, and its sister brewery, Smuttynose Brewing Co.produce a variety of seasonal and year round brews including Carlyle Cream Ale, Black Cat Stout, Old Brown Dog, Smuttynose Portsmouth Lager. Beers are distributed in New England and the Middle Atlantic States.
New Mexica-Sante Fe Brewing Com. makes seasonal and year round favorites. Their facility, 35 Fireplace, Santa Fe,NM 87508 includes a pub, outdoor patio, and aside from beer, features Taos Cow ice cream.
 NEW YORK -Brooklyn Brewery, #1 Brewers Row, Brooklyn, New York 11211 offers a new Belgian inspired brew, Brooklyn Local 1. They have happy hour every Friday, tours on Saturdays, and produce their core beers plus seasonal beers. They shouldn't be hard to find with that address.
North Carolina-Carolina Blonde brews its signature beer, Carolina Blonde in Mooresville. They do beer, ale, stout, and seasonal beers. Tours are done on Saturday but secial arrangements can be made for groups of 15 or more. The beers and ales are available in stores in the mid Atlantic States, at "Wood on South", a popular restaurant in Charlotte, NC 28203, and thirsty travelers can find it at Charlotte douglas Internation Airport.
OHIO- Great Lakes Brewing Company, awesome beer from Cleveland OHio
Oregon-Full Sail Brewing Co. in Portland 97201. They do seasonal brews including their popular Wassail, a winter ale, and also year round like American lager. They do brewery tours as well.
South Dakota-micro brewery Crow Peak Brewery in spearfish SD 57783. Carolyn and Jeff your hosts in their taproom and also on their deck, weather permitting and a farmers' market in the summer. They can't make it fast enough for the their customers. Don't forget to swing by for a visit when you're out to see the Corn Palace in Mitchell.

TEXAS -Lone Star Brewery was first built in San Antonia, Texas in 1904. It i now owned by Pabst. - Shiner Brewery in Shiner, Texas, 77984. They've been making beer since 1909. Brews include Shiner 99 and Bohemium Black Lager. They do brewery tours.  And don't miss newcomer (production started March 2008)  Southern Star Brewing in Conroe, TX  with its signature brew,  Pine Belt Pale Ale.  They do monthly brewery tours starting in September. Their Pine Belt Pale Ale is now available in Houston, Dallas, Austin, and College Station. 
Vermont-Otter Creek Brewery, great spot to visit, take a tour, taste the beer, learn about brewing, and which beer goes with which cheese. Otter Creek in Middlebury, Vermont, located in beautiful Middlebury, Vermont, started  shipping their first keg of Copper Ale in March of 1991. In May of 2002, the Wolaver family purchased Otter Creek Brewing. Otter Creek remains a family owned Vermont company and produces all Otter Creek and Wolaver's brands for distribution throughout the country. They brew and bottle all of the beers in small batches to ensure freshness and consistent quality, using natural Vermont water, the best domestic malt and hops available, their own top-fermenting yeast and no less than 98% certified organic ingredients. Otter Creek offers free tours and free samples in their brewery tasting room. They are open 10-6 Tues-Sat. Free Tours at 1, 3, and 5pm. Free Samples All Day!

VERMONT-bEER AND ALES  Long Trail Brewery   Hook & Ladder Brewing Co.   Otter Creek Brewery in Middlebury, VT.
Virginia-In the Blue Ridge Mountains, near Charlottesville, Blue Mountain Brewery, Afton, VA 22920, produces filtered wheat beer, lager and pale ales.
Wyoming-Snake River Brewery in Jackson Hole,  make a range of light beer to dark and more dark, including Custer's Last Ale and Indian Paint Brush Pilsner. They also have the organic certification award for 2007.
